Experiencing Christ in the Full-Time Training, Karen DeWeerd

I came to the Full-Time Training in Anaheim (FTTA) expecting to learn more of who God is and to gain further knowledge of His Word. Now I am in my third term of training and will graduate in December 2001. I am learning more about God and His Word, but even more, I am becoming an enjoyer of Him.

For example, we are learning not only the facts of God becoming a man, Jesus, dying on the cross and then resurrecting on the third day, but we are practicing how to experience, enjoy and receive Jesus Christ. I feel privileged to have this opportunity to give these two years of my life to be trained, trained to trust in Christ for everything, trained to turn to Him quickly, trained to open my mouth to preach the gospel and trained to enjoy Christ as the living One in me. In the Training, we develop and cultivate habits such as morning revival, “[pursuing] righteousness, faith, love, peace with those who call on the Lord out of a pure heart” (2 Timothy 2:22). The FTTA allows me to live in the reality of this verse, in a sanctified atmosphere, for two years.
